Salt is a mother of 16, grandmother of 18 and great-grandmother of four. During the hot summer months, she enjoys her life in the Gulf of Maine, in the United States. She spends the winter in the stunning Caribbean. Both Salt and her daughter Sanchal have returned from their winter holiday, in the Caribbean, with a newborn baby! Most humpback whales are not named until they are a couple of years old. The only exception is Salt&#039;s babies. These are named after spices or variations of salt, and baby No. 16 is no exception: she was named after the Japanese spice paste &quot;miso&quot;.

Humans have brought many whale species to the brink of extinction through industrial whaling, especially from the 19th century onwards. In a unique step in the history of species protection, the whaling moratorium came into force in 1986, banning commercial whaling.

KYMA is also a think tank to advance the huge challenge of marine conservation in the 21st century through creative and concrete means. This includes projects and informing the public. KYMA also invites interested individuals to contribute their bright ideas for projects or theses and offers support to take them forward.

KYMA shows ecological connections and networks and communicates consumption and value attitudes in order to deeply anchor the protection of the oceans on land.

Water is a basic commodity whose availability is a human right. DRINK &amp; DONATE and its partners achieve a long-term impact with sustainable drinking water projects. The drinking water projects supported by DRINK &amp; DONATE are selected in partnership with the development organization Viva con Agua, implemented and regularly audited for responsible use of donated funds.

DRINK & DONATE creates awareness for the sensible use of water and enables disadvantaged people to access this vital resource in the spirit of an ecological, social and fair commitment.

Protecting the oceans is particularly important to Robert. That&#039;s why he and Mission Erde e.V. are particularly concerned with ridding the oceans of so-called ghost nets, which otherwise become terrible death traps for many animals.
